As-Salam-Alaikum Dear  Parents, 

 

InshaAllah, this letter reaches you in the best of health…Ameen.

 

We are almost halfway through the first quarter, mashaAllah!  Next week marks mid-quarter, and progress reports will be going home on Friday, September 29, inshaAllah. I hope parents are routinely logging into our Sycamore portal to see your child’s progress. 

 

We will begin after-school tutoring as well next week. Your child’s teacher will determine if your student needs supplemental help after school. If so, then you should find more details in your child’s folder and backpack today. 

 

The buzz at Iqra School is all about our upcoming Social Studies Fair in October. Classes have already started to discuss which country they will be learning about and presenting on that day. We will keep you posted on updates for the fair. 

 

We kicked off the school year with our Super Muslim theme of proper wudu and salah. This year, we are kicking it up a notch and looking for students who not only memorize the related hadith and its meaning but also apply the hadith. Islamic studies teachers have been teaching students the first step to salah is doing wudu properly. Once that is complete, our salah will follow. Islamic studies teachers will be testing students on Monday to see who has it memorized, and they have been watching to see who puts it into practice! 

 

Picture Day is on Thursday, September 28 inshaAllah. Students do not need to wear uniforms on that day. Instead, they can wear their Jummah best clothes, making sure that the clothing is Islamically appropriate and does not distract from learning. Any student not following the guidelines will be sent to the office so that parents can be contacted. 

 

We are continuing to collect toiletries for the Toilterry Drive organized by the Rockford Refugee Support Program. The drive ends on October 6, 2023, so please support the mission and send in soaps, shampoos, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and such. The class with the most collections gets awarded an ice cream party! 

 

Lastly, the office will be closing early next Friday so that all staff can attend Trauma I Training on September 29, inshaAllah.  The office will close right after dismissal.  Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. JAK, and have a great weekend!

لقد اقتربنا من منتصف الربع الأول، ما شاء الله! يصادف الأسبوع المقبل منتصف الربع، وستعود تقارير التقدم يوم الجمعة 29 سبتمبر إن شاء الله. آمل أن يقوم الآباء بتسجيل الدخول بشكل روتيني إلى بوابة Sycamore الخاصة بنا لرؤية التقدم الذي يحرزه طفلك.

 

وسنبدأ التدريس بعد المدرسة أيضًا في الأسبوع المقبل. سيحدد معلم طفلك ما إذا كان طفلك يحتاج إلى مساعدة تكميلية بعد المدرسة. إذا كان الأمر كذلك، فيجب أن تجد المزيد من التفاصيل في مجلد طفلك وحقيبة ظهره اليوم.

 

يدور الضجيج في مدرسة اقرأ حول معرض الدراسات الاجتماعية القادم في أكتوبر. بدأت الفصول الدراسية بالفعل في مناقشة البلد الذي سيتعلمون عنه ويقدمونه في ذلك اليوم. وسنوافيكم بآخر المستجدات الخاصة بالمعرض.

لقد بدأنا العام الدراسي بموضوعنا الإسلامي الفائق المتمثل في الوضوء والصلاة الصحيحين. هذا العام، نحن نرفع المستوى ونبحث عن الطلاب الذين لا يحفظون الحديث ذي الصلة ومعناه فحسب، بل يطبقون الحديث أيضًا. يقوم معلمو الدراسات الإسلامية بتعليم الطلاب الخطوة الأولى للصلاة وهي الوضوء بشكل صحيح. وبمجرد اكتمال ذلك، فإن صلاتنا ستتبع. سيقوم معلمو الدراسات الإسلامية باختبار الطلاب يوم الاثنين لمعرفة من حفظها، وكانوا يراقبون لمعرفة من الذي يضعها موضع التنفيذ!

 

يوم الصورة يوم الخميس 28 سبتمبر إن شاء الله. ولا يحتاج الطلاب إلى ارتداء الزي الرسمي في ذلك اليوم. وبدلاً من ذلك، يمكنهم ارتداء أفضل ملابس الجمعة، مع التأكد من أن الملابس مناسبة شرعًا ولا تصرف عن التعلم. سيتم إرسال أي طالب لا يلتزم بالإرشادات إلى المكتب ليتم التواصل مع أولياء الأمور.

 

نحن مستمرون في جمع أدوات النظافة لحملة Toilterry Drive التي ينظمها برنامج Rockford Refugee Support Program. تنتهي الرحلة في 6 أكتوبر 2023، لذا يرجى دعم المهمة وإرسال الصابون والشامبو وفرشاة الأسنان ومعجون الأسنان وما شابه. يحصل الفصل الذي لديه أكبر عدد من المجموعات على حفلة آيس كريم!
