InshaAllah, this letter reaches you in the best of health and iman…Ameen.

 

The buzz at Iqra School is the upcoming Social Studies Fair. Students have been busy working hard for the past month and are excited to share their completed work. Thank you to all parents for supporting their child(ren). Projects and fairs such as these bring together all stakeholders (students, teachers, and parents) to collaboratively work on learning about a new topic. Each stakeholder carries a certain role. As parents, brainstorming ideas and providing materials and guidance are the expectations. Teachers also provide guidance, monitor progress, and possibly provide some class time for work. Older students are expected to research and do most of the work themselves. Younger students, of course, may need more help. We hope these opportunities provide some quality family time with your child. As always, never hesitate to ask the teacher if you have any questions. 

 

With the fall season comes a change in time. Daylight savings time will end on Sunday, November 5, 2023. This means that Asr prayer time will fall within Iqra School hours. As an Islamic school, we value and protect prayer times and ensure students are praying fard prayers as much as possible. Starting Monday, November 6, 2023 Iqra students will be praying Asr prayer at 2:55 inshaAllah. This moves our dismissal time to 3:05-3:15. Please be prepared to pick up your child at 3:05 from November 6 onwards and until further notice. The school will notify families when Asr dismissal time will end. 

 

The end of the first quarter is rapidly approaching. The last day of the first quarter is Tuesday, October 31. Please check Sycamore regularly for updates on your child’s progress. Parent teacher conferences are scheduled for Friday, November 10. Details for conferences will be posted soon, inshaAllah. 

Our school will be going through the accreditation process this year. To that end, we are requesting some help from families. The office will be sending a survey next week, inshaAllah. We request families to complete those surveys and submit them as soon as possible.  Your child can return them to the office to receive a small incentive. For anonymity purposes, surveys can be submitted in the envelope provided. 

 

Last but not least, the safety of our students is always our top priority. Last week’s newsletter mentioned some precautions that we are taking. We will continue to be in a soft lockdown and as an added security measure, we have asked local law enforcement to make regular patrol rounds around our school. Furthermore, Metro police will also be on guard during Jummah salah. May Allah swt protect us all.. Ameen.

إن شاء الله تصلك هذه الرسالة وأنت في أفضل صحة وإيمان...آمين.

 

الضجة في مدرسة اقرأ هي معرض الدراسات الاجتماعية القادم. كان الطلاب مشغولين بالعمل الجاد خلال الشهر الماضي وهم متحمسون لمشاركة عملهم المكتمل. شكرًا لجميع أولياء الأمور على دعم أطفالهم (أطفالهم). تجمع المشاريع والمعارض مثل هذه بين جميع أصحاب المصلحة (الطلاب والمعلمين وأولياء الأمور) للعمل بشكل تعاوني على التعرف على موضوع جديد. كل صاحب مصلحة له دور معين. كآباء، فإن تبادل الأفكار وتوفير المواد والإرشادات هي التوقعات. يقدم المعلمون أيضًا التوجيه، ويراقبون التقدم، وربما يوفرون بعض الوقت الدراسي للعمل. يُتوقع من الطلاب الأكبر سنًا إجراء البحث والقيام بمعظم العمل بأنفسهم. وبطبيعة الحال، قد يحتاج الطلاب الأصغر سنا إلى مزيد من المساعدة. نأمل أن توفر هذه الفرص بعض الوقت العائلي الجيد مع طفلك. كما هو الحال دائمًا، لا تتردد أبدًا في سؤال المعلم إذا كان لديك أي أسئلة.

 

مع فصل الخريف يأتي تغيير في الوقت. سينتهي التوقيت الصيفي يوم الأحد 5 نوفمبر 2023. وهذا يعني أن وقت صلاة العصر سيقع ضمن ساعات مدرسة اقرأ. باعتبارنا مدرسة إسلامية، فإننا نقدر ونحمي أوقات الصلاة ونضمن أن الطلاب يصلون صلاة الفريضة قدر الإمكان. ابتداءً من يوم الاثنين 6 نوفمبر 2023 سوف يصلي طلاب إقرأ صلاة العصر الساعة 2:55 إن شاء الله. يؤدي هذا إلى نقل وقت إقالةنا إلى 3:05-3:15. يرجى الاستعداد لاصطحاب طفلك الساعة 3:05 بدءًا من 6 نوفمبر فصاعدًا وحتى إشعار آخر. ستقوم المدرسة بإخطار العائلات بموعد انتهاء وقت الفصل في العصر.

 

نهاية الربع الأول تقترب بسرعة. اليوم الأخير من الربع الأول هو الثلاثاء 31 أكتوبر. يرجى مراجعة Sycamore بانتظام للحصول على تحديثات حول تقدم طفلك. من المقرر عقد مؤتمرات أولياء الأمور والمعلمين يوم الجمعة 10 نوفمبر. وسيتم نشر تفاصيل المؤتمرات قريبا إن شاء الله.

سوف تمر مدرستنا بعملية الاعتماد هذا العام. ولتحقيق هذه الغاية، نطلب بعض المساعدة من العائلات. وسوف يقوم المكتب بإرسال الاستبيان الأسبوع المقبل إن شاء الله. ونطلب من العائلات إكمال هذه الاستبيانات وتقديمها في أقرب وقت ممكن. يمكن لطفلك إعادته إلى المكتب للحصول على حافز صغير. لأغراض عدم الكشف عن هويته، يمكن تقديم الاستطلاعات في المظروف المقدم.

 

أخيرًا وليس آخرًا، سلامة طلابنا هي دائمًا أولويتنا القصوى. ذكرت النشرة الإخبارية الأسبوع الماضي بعض الاحتياطات التي نتخذها. سنستمر في الإغلاق الناعم وكإجراء أمني إضافي، طلبنا من سلطات إنفاذ القانون المحلية القيام بدوريات منتظمة حول مدرستنا. علاوة على ذلك، ستكون شرطة المترو أيضًا في حالة حراسة أثناء جمعة صلاح. الله سبحانه وتعالى يحفظنا جميعا.. آمين.
