As-Salam-Alaikum Dear Parents,

Thank you to all parents who came to parent-teacher conferences last Friday. Alhamudillah, we had a good turnout which indicates a  positive school-home relationship. Parent-teacher conferences provide families an insight into their child’s strengths, areas of improvement, and behavior patterns. This is also an opportunity for parents to discuss any questions or concerns they have pertaining to their child. InshaAllah, these conversations will build positive relationships that support student learning and result in student success. Again, thank you to all who came. Having said that, please do not feel that conference days are the only time to talk with your child’s teachers. Feel free to reach out to teachers via email or a phone call to the office for any issues you may have. We welcome an open line of communication! 

 

I would like to take this opportunity to address the importance of punctuality. As we began the second quarter teachers and staff  have noticed students are not coming to school on time. As adults, we model what is valued to our students and children. If we consistently show up late to school, events or meetings, we communicate to our young ones that time is not important. Unfortunately, this mindset will not serve them well. 

 

Aside from teaching time management, self-discipline, and proper planning, respecting time is a religious obligation. After all, are we not bound by this concept when we pray our daily prayers? when we are given specific hours to fast? when we perform Hajj? These duties require us to do them in a timely manner. Otherwise, the value and impact diminish or lose meaning. This concept needs to translate into our daily affairs as well. Please teach your children to respect time by being on time, by bringing them to school on time, and by planning and preparing beforehand so that they do not run late. 
We hope to see a positive change in this regard moving forward, inshaAllah. 

Next week is a short week in observance of Thanksgiving. We will have a half day on Wednesday, November 22. Students will be dismissed at 11:40 through the drive-thru and as with most half days, there will not be a lunch period that day. There will be no school Thursday, November 23-Friday, November 24. School will resume on Monday, November 27, 2023 insha'Allah.

شكرًا لجميع أولياء الأمور الذين حضروا مؤتمر الآباء والمعلمين يوم الجمعة الماضي. والحمد لله، كان لدينا إقبال جيد مما يدل على العلاقة الإيجابية بين المدرسة والبيت. توفر مؤتمرات الآباء والمعلمين للعائلات نظرة ثاقبة حول نقاط القوة لدى أطفالهم ومجالات التحسين وأنماط السلوك. وهذه أيضًا فرصة للآباء لمناقشة أي أسئلة أو مخاوف لديهم تتعلق بطفلهم. إن شاء الله، ستعمل هذه المحادثات على بناء علاقات إيجابية تدعم تعلم الطلاب وتؤدي إلى نجاح الطلاب. مرة أخرى، شكرا لجميع الذين حضروا. ومع ذلك، من فضلك لا تشعر أن أيام المؤتمر هي الوقت الوحيد للتحدث مع معلمي طفلك. لا تتردد في التواصل مع المعلمين عبر البريد الإلكتروني أو مكالمة هاتفية إلى المكتب بشأن أية مشكلات قد تواجهك. نحن نرحب بخط اتصال مفتوح!

 

وأود أن أغتنم هذه الفرصة للتطرق إلى أهمية الالتزام بالمواعيد. مع بداية الربع الثاني، لاحظ المعلمون والموظفون أن الطلاب لا يأتون إلى المدرسة في الوقت المحدد. كبالغين، نحن نمثل ما هو ذو قيمة لطلابنا وأطفالنا. إذا كنا نتأخر دائمًا عن المدرسة أو الأحداث أو الاجتماعات، فإننا نبلغ أطفالنا الصغار أن الوقت ليس مهمًا. ولسوء الحظ، فإن هذه العقلية لن تخدمهم بشكل جيد.

 

فإلى جانب تعليم إدارة الوقت والانضباط الذاتي والتخطيط السليم، فإن احترام الوقت واجب ديني. ففي نهاية المطاف، ألسنا ملزمين بهذا المفهوم عندما نصلي صلواتنا اليومية؟ متى يتم تحديد ساعات محددة للصيام؟ متى نقوم بالحج؟ هذه الواجبات تتطلب منا القيام بها في الوقت المناسب. وإلا فإن القيمة والأثر يتضاءلان أو يفقدان المعنى. ويجب أن يترجم هذا المفهوم إلى شؤوننا اليومية أيضًا. علموا أطفالكم احترام الوقت بالتواجد في الوقت المحدد. تعليمهم عن طريق إحضارهم إلى المدرسة في الوقت المحدد. علموهم بالتخطيط والإعداد المسبق حتى لا يتأخروا.
ونأمل أن نرى تغييراً إيجابياً في هذا الصدد في المستقبل إن شاء الله.

الأسبوع القادم هو أسبوع قصير احتفالا بعيد الشكر. سيكون لدينا نصف يوم يوم الأربعاء 22 نوفمبر. سيتم صرف الطلاب في تمام الساعة 11:40 من خلال خدمة التوصيل، وكما هو الحال في معظم نصف الأيام، لن تكون هناك فترة غداء في ذلك اليوم. ولن تكون هناك مدرسة الخميس 23 نوفمبر - الجمعة 24 نوفمبر. وستستأنف الدراسة يوم الاثنين 27 نوفمبر 2023 إن شاء الله.
